Touchscreen for dental surgeons

Osstell's “IDx” is such a specialized product that most people do not even know it exists. It uses ultrasonic pulses to measure the stability of dental implants, and is thus an aid for dental surgeons to follow up the healing process after surgery. The entire unit is controlled via a touch screen where we at Republic have designed the interface from the ground up.

Customer:Osstell

Osstell manufactures instruments for dental diagnostics. With their product, dental surgeons can determine the status of a dental implant. Osstell is headquartered in Gothenburg and a subsidiary in the USA. The company is active through distributors all over the world.

It is an exciting challenge to work with such niche products with specific uses, and make sure that the entire process from start-up, measurement, and management of patient data becomes as simple and flexible as possible for the surgeon who will use the instrument in their everyday lives.

We also find it extra fun that Osstell took the help of talented industrial designers to create a product that feels modern, stylish and well thought out all the way.
