Design of touchscreen interface for bakery ovens
Simplifying everyday life for bakers around the world was a fun challenge. Here we designed an interface for a touchscreen that was built into the oven's front panel. We have designed panels for both professional baking ovens, pizza ovens and fridges. The result has been received very well by users worldwide.
Customer:Sveba-Dahlén
The company was founded in 1948 and is today a leader in the development and manufacture of equipment for the bakery and pizza industry. Sveba-Dahlén is today a major supplier to bakery, confectionery, retail, pizza / restaurant and catering throughout the world.
The product was launched in conjunction with the IBA fair in Munich 2012. The interest in the new panel was fantastic and very positive. Those who saw the panel and tried it were very impressed with how easy it is to use and how quickly you learn the features
Wireframes
As ideas about how the user interface would work, sketches were created where we, together with the customer, discussed and tested the views, function by function.
User-centered design
The interface was developed in close collaboration with the end users, ie bakers and shop staff. Already at the wireframes stage we visited bakeries and received continuous feedback from the users on both design and function.
