Web site for Göteborgsvarvet

During the winter of 2019/2020, Republic was commissioned to design and build the new website for Göteborgsvarvet, as well as a number of other websites for smaller races and events.

Göteborsvarvet is the world's largest half marathon, and is organized by the Gothenburg Athletics Association in favor of the athletics business in the region.

Smooth integration with the system for participants

Göteborgsvarvet has a competent, in-house developed system for handling applications and starting groups. Our challenge was to integrate it in the new design in a user-friendly and easy way.

We solved this by "lending" structure and design (in the form of json data and CSS templates) from the new site to the registration system. This way, the design and structure are kept together and updated automatically between both websites.

Craft CMSA simple but powerful CM-system

The site is built with the CM system Craft CMS as the basis. The Athletics Association had a number of requirements and wishes that Craft could cover; they can manage all the sites in the same system, support for multiple editors with different roles and rights, a competent management of images and media directly in the system, and support for multiple languages.
