A big reason why Skiguard roof boxes have become popular is the focus on design and quality and the fact that they are adapted to several different car models.

This was something we wanted to highlight and clarify, especially since there are a lot of great photos of many different cars and many different boxes – both painted ones and standard colors.
A big part of our redesign was about making the car selector – or roof box selector, depending on which angle you prefer – more prominent.
We believe many people want to see how the box would actually look on the specific car model they have. We think it makes a big difference if you get to see how the box sits on your car, and what fit and positioning has been done, compared to just seeing a generic car or a diagram of how the box should look on a standard car.

We also tried to make it clearer what you can buy directly on the website in terms of accessories, extra equipment, and spare parts. It was a bit unclear before. Now we hope to have a greater ability to push specific accessories at specific times of the year – for example, a mounting device when it's starting to be time to take the box off.
Beyond this, a smaller design review was also done. Much of the branding work was already done – graphic profile, colors, logo – but we tried to use it in a somewhat different layout than before, even though we kept a lot of what worked well with the old layout.
When it comes to the backend, the big change is that we've gathered everything related to cars, car models, and roof boxes into specific databases that can be reused in many different places. This gives the customer a significantly better overview of which car models and roof boxes exist in each market, what content is missing, and what's already complete.

Working with Republic has been great – they're quick to respond, they understand the need and an architecture that's technologically sound over time, but also very good to work in.
This means Skiguard can connect new local systems for other markets as the website expands – when we launch more markets than Norway on the same platform.
